Privacy Policy
The short version. Your photos and videos are deleted 24 hours after a night ends. We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. You can delete your account at any time in the app.
Who we are
Noxi is an app made in Tampa, Florida. In this policy, "we" means the team behind Noxi. "You" means anyone who uses the app.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and password. Passwords are stored in scrambled form, and we can't read them.
- Profile: your first name and your birth date. We use your birth date only to confirm you are 18 or older.
- Groups and plans: the groups you create or join, nights you plan, and your answers (Going, Maybe, Can't).
- Photos and videos: the shots you take in Noxi, the time you took them, and which night they belong to.
- Night activity: when prompts were sent and opened, when you tap "I'm home", your votes, and your XP.
- Notifications: a push notification token for your phone and your time zone, so alerts arrive at the right time.
- Safety records: reports you make, people you block, and reports others make about content.
- Interest in Noxi+: if you tap "Notify me", we save which option you picked.
We do not collect your location, contacts, or text messages. If we add location features later, we will update this policy first and ask your permission in the app.
How we use it
- To run Noxi: create your account, show your groups, send prompts, and build each morning recap.
- To keep people safe: check ages, review reports, and enforce our rules.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
- To contact you about your account, when needed.
Who can see your content
Your shots are visible only to members of the group for that night. People you block can't see your shots, and you can't see theirs. If a shot wins Photo of the Night and someone shares it outside Noxi, it leaves our control. Group members can block a share before it happens.
How long we keep it
- Photos and videos: deleted from our servers 24 hours after the night ends. Copies you save to your own phone are yours to keep or delete.
- Account and profile: kept until you delete your account.
- Safety records: kept as long as needed to handle reports and prevent abuse.
Service providers
We use trusted companies to run Noxi. They process data only to provide their service to us.
- Supabase: stores accounts, data, photos, and videos.
- Expo: delivers push notifications and helps build the app.
- Apple: delivers notifications to iPhones and distributes the app.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it with authorities only when the law requires it.
Your choices
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Profile, then Delete account. This removes your profile, shots, votes, and XP.
- Notifications: turn them off any time in your iPhone settings.
- Sharing: turn on "Never share photos I'm in" in your profile.
- Questions or requests: email us to access or delete your data. We reply within 30 days.
Age requirement
Noxi is only for people 18 and older. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we delete it.
Security
We use encrypted connections and access rules that limit each person to their own groups. No system is perfect, so we can't promise total security.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect.
